Garret Rangel, inserted as starting quarterback Friday night against No. 13 BYU, will miss time with an injury suffered in the 38-35 loss. While coach Mike Gundy didn’t disclose specifics about the injury, it reportedly is to his collarbone.”He’s out,” Gundy told reporters Saturday, saying he didn’t know if the injury was season-ending.”I don’t know, but he’ll be out a while. It’s hard for me to predict,” Gundy said.Rangel suffered the injury during a 54-yard run in the second quarter. He was replaced by Alan Bowman.Rangel had started in place of seventh-year senior Bowman, the 2023 starter who had guided the Cowboys (3-4) to three consecutive losses. Bowman will return to the starting role when Oklahoma State visits Baylor next weekend. Before the injury, Rangel was 6-of-9 passing for 51 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
