So what is the investment in Boise State basketball post season play? Judging by the turnout and results in Las Vegas, not much. Why get your hopes up only to have them dashed ? I guess I can understand why fans don’t come to Vegas for the tourney. It’s like watching Titanic and getting pissed when it doesn’t end better. For three straight seasons the Broncos and their army of ants for fans have been sent home after 1 game.

3 straight seasons!

It gets old and it’s easier to just stay home. After the loss to Utah State, Leon Rice reminded us again that his team isn’t as talented as others in the Mountain West. If I were a fan I would get sick of hearing that and would wonder when the talent would catch up. Rice has a heap of respect for San Diego St, New Mexico and UNLV.  He makes it sound like it will be a day far away when Boise St conquers them and wins the MWC post season tourney. That’s a tough environment to grow passionate fans. At the same time, he is selling out the arena for regular season games, winning 20+ games and has now produced a 1st round NBA pick. Maybe the longer he stays and works to beat the Big 3 , the investment will pay off. I just hope there is enough fans left by then who want to see it in person.
