One of the things I wish Boise State athletics was able to do is an awards banquet that involves the entire athletic department. There’s so many great teams and athletes each year, it would be cool to see them honored in a big end-of-year event. It would be this time of year, right around graduation. Bob Behler could host it (I’d be willing to assist). The video department could come up with great montages (they do anyway). It would be a fantastic celebration of Bronco Sports. For now, it’s just a dream.

I bring this up, because I came across something similar while preparing for a Nevada softball game. They have their version of awards called “The Wolfies”. So, stealing from Nevada, I wanted to come up with the Boise State winners of their categories. What other categories would you come up with? Do you agree with my choices?

Male/Female Athlete of the Year:

-Boise State Women’s Basketball v. Colorado State

-Oceane Pelloille (WGLF)

Most Energetic Player:
-Nick Duncan (MBB)

Coach of the Year:
-Shawn Garus (VB)

Most Likely to Succeed:
-Brooke Pahukoa (WBB)

I’m a Social Media Star:
– (Any ideas?)

Not So Clutch:
-Basketball team on BSU and Fresno can’t retrieve the basketball
