The Mountain West announced its football schedule today and it looks like the conference is trying to set up Utah State and Boise State as rivals playing the final weekend in a game that could decide the Mountain Division. They have matched up teams within their own divisions that final weekend to go head-to-head. Last year, Utah State won the division and to repeat they will have to come to the Blue and win the last week.
Boise State has only one stretch of the season with back-to-back road games. The Broncos go to Air Force and Nevada, September 27th and October 4th. The Broncos have two of their biggest home games back-to-back surrounded by two byes. Fresno State and BYU will come here October 18th and 25th.
The most intriguing game on the schedule is in the opener against Ole Miss in Atlanta. First game for Bryan Harsin as coach. Seeing what the new schemes are going to be and who the star players will be. And going against an SEC team.
The road trip I am most looking forward to is to Air Force. I've done games at West Point and Annapolis and now I get a chance to complete the triple.
We'll dissect all of the games as it gets closer. The schedule was released earlier this year than last. Spring football is just around the corner.
